Stephen Wiltshire: Pure Genius

April 12, 2011 § 6 Comments

You may have heard of Stephen Wiltshire; he’s a London based artist renowned for his masterfully detailed drawings of cityscapes.

Stephen Wiltshire is autistic. He didn’t speak one word until he was 5 years old. His mind, however, is pure genius. His “disability”, as so often is the case, has provided an amazing gift.

Thanks to my friend Jai for sharing this with me… now it’s my pleasure to share it with you. If you view the video, I pretty much guarantee you’ll be awed.

Love that you drew our attention to this very real miracle. Thanks to you I got a real sense of wonder through this very special person.

I had seen his story on a news program and was awed. As I watch again to see only one error made on the Pantheon after one brief helicopter ride, it not only is amazing that he remembers every detail down to the number of windows but that he can draw it so perfectly! To label anyone as having a disability because they are different is to overlook the unique gift each of us brings to this planet. I bow to the God within Stephen Wiltshire. Namaste!!

Wow, are you serious?! This is AMAZING! I am an advocate for individuals with disabilities and to learn of their unique talents always intrigues me…thanks so much for sharing 🙂
